It is hard to believe, but Spandau is Berlin as well ;)
Let us open the Christmas season by exploring this foreign corner of Berlin: https://spandauer-weihnachtsmarkt.de/.
On the more than 7,500 m² of open space in the citadel, the magic of light in the citadel will take place for the second time. This includes the individual bastions, as well as the main area in the middle of the complex. Atmospheric huts decorated for Christmas, traditional and modern handicrafts, fine delicacies, punch and much more await the visitor behind the protective walls of the fortress. Visitors can look forward to three new attractions. A 10m high Christmas pyramid, a CO2-neutral ice skating rink and the two curling rinks. Each square offers a different, magical view of the historic ensemble's buildings lit up for Christmas.
The citadel is considered one of the most important and best-preserved Renaissance fortresses in Europe. The oldest building in Berlin, the Juliusturm (13th century), as well as several museums and exhibitions are located within the historic walls of the citadel.
